The COVID-19 pandemic is an unique situation that has impacted us all, and has had a direct impact on the 2020 Yawkey Baseball League season. As of now our the planned start of our regular season has been delayed and we share in how disappointing this is and we will continue to consult with appropriate city, state, local and health officials to be sure that we are doing the best we can for the safety and well-being of our players, coaches, families, umpires, and fans that come out to the parks.

The Yawkey Baseball League Board of Directors is following guidance from the State of Massachusetts, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization(WHO) to work on all of our options that would allow us to play baseball this summer and we will provide updates here as well once we have updates and more information.

It is our sincere hope that we can baseball the summer and the Yawkey Baseball League Board of Directors and franchise holders are meeting regularly via conference calls to work on any and all options available to us.

We also ask that all of our players to check in regularly with their teams leadership as they should have updates on the options that are being discussed for the 2020 season.

Sabers Great Season Comes To An End

Aug 23 2019 10:28AM

Player/Manager Angelo Colucci on the season ending, "The series was there to be won for us. We were just as good as the Rockies, two great teams squared off, we just didn't execute at vital times against a veteran  club and they took advantage.  That is baseball and you build off of that next year.  A majority of the team should be back next year and we will be a tough team to beat as we keep building.  I can't believe I am saying this, but next year we will be celebrating our tenth year anniversary as a franchise and we are hoping to make it a special year.  It was a tremendous season, with a bunch of new faces and we had a lot of fun.  I love the game, this team, this league and it is the reason why I do it every year.

Rockies Eliminate Sabers

Aug 21 2019 2:33PM

The Revere Rockies have elminated the Stoneham Sabers in 4 games of a hard fought series.  After several great pitching performances, the Sabers were only able to win one game of the best of 5 semi-final series and were eliminated on Tuesday night. Ryan Flanagan gave the best pitching performance of the series for Stoneham and their only win of the series on Sunday afternoon.  The Sabers also came firing out of the gate in game 3, but left runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs, which ultimately led to a 3-1 loss on Monday night.  On Tuesday, the Sabers started the game with 3 errors and could not recover.  Offensively the Sabers bats were cold other than Sunday and timely hitting for the rest of their series was ultimately their demise.
